I found a new place!

Taking a big step forward in Mission: 'Save Money to Travel the World' today as I meet with my new future landlord to begin the rental application process! With a potential move date of June 1 (only a few short weeks away) it's time to buckle down and get serious about moving.

I'm sure I've subconsciously been dragging my feet a little - as it will be tough to give up my little luxury apartment on the river... but I'm happy to report that I think I found a place that will be equally as cozy once I'm all settled in :) When all is said and done, the new place is actually larger, and is a one bedroom instead of a studio. Granted, it is an older building and will take a little extra TLC, but I believe I will be very happy there in the long run.

PLUS.... I'll be saving $500.00/month on rent and utilities alone! When my heart aches a little for my current studio, I remind myself how even just stashing away that chunk of money every month will go a huge way in making the travel dreams come true. Besides the fact that once my other financial kinks get ironed out in the next month or so (cell phone, car, etc.) that dollar amount could pretty easily double.

That definitely takes the sting out of the move :)

1. Find a more affordable apartment

Now it's time to move on to step 2....

 2. Consolidate my belongings

This next phase will be a bit of an ongoing process. Stay tuned for details!

Here is the new place, 1200 W Franklin Ave. (not the actual unit, but exactly the same as the one I'll be living in):

Wish me luck as the next few weeks of inevitable moving chaos ensue! :)
